Wanted to know if anyone has some hip hop songs recorded and mixed in Sam that I could listen to and check them out. I own Sam 9.1.1 and most of the cats that do hip hop are singing the praizes of PT, but I ain't switching unless Jesus Himself tells me face 2 face (Ride or Die with Sam).

Hit me back,

MPG (Mouf Pieceof God)

hi,

I can't add more than AsylumDigital, I'm agree.

You can hear some of my humble hip hop prods on my site, I'm not a specialist, I work on various genres.

Some of these prods are done by me (record to master), some are just mixed here, and some are just mastered here, but all done in Samp ! :D

if your comming from Logic youll miss the quantizing screens..but sam-dev is very good at implementing updates and I have very high hopes for the next major release /update to really make it work.

Hip Hop /RNB / House is my mainstay and comming from other sequencers like Nuendo and logic took me a little to get used to it, but samplitude has so much to offer.

How long did it take you in making ya transition from the other sequencers? I really cut for Samplitude, but just knowing the basics of this program ain't cuttin it for me. Due to the wealth of tutorials and video training in Cubase I am thinking about defecting to Steinberg. I will still keep and use Samplitude for a scetch pad and some audio editing and mastering cause I got much love for it, but none of the professional studios in my area use it or really even know about it. I'm in a small town and the only professional studio in my town has Nuendo so having cubase will help for a quick and easy transfer of files and info when working with the professional engineer in my town. There are other studios in town, but they don't have the training and skill of Steve Rosas at DRS. In your opinion besides the obvious Object editing and the pristine and transparent sound of Samplitude what does it have to offer above Cubase or Nuendo especially in the realm of hip hop and RnB? I know this it totally off the initial post, but I just been having this on my mind.

features that make it better for hip hop....There really isnt any. I had gotten sick of cubase crashing and the features that were supposed to work not work. And the politics at steinberg really got me cheesed.

So I ended up here because I didnt want to buy a mac and run logic. Logic is the industry standard for RNB / POP / Hip Hop, along with pro-tool. But they dont sequence in pro-tools.

So now Im hoping and beging that the midi side in samplitude gets to where we all want it and I know then samplitude will be a real major player in the market. The audio side for what I do is perfect, they could leave it alone. Just work on the interface a little and some other things here and there.

I would stay away from cubase 4 right now..its buggy and it seems like another major update is comming..perhaps cubase 5..since 4 is really not so good at all.
