pasc Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Hi again, Samplitude looks very appealing to me but I MUST find a way to be at least compatible with the ubiquitous Pro Tools. People come to work at the studio with pre-produced ProTools LE or Logic sessions etc. Has any of you tried Pro Convert ? What does it really reproduce ? - editing : right sounbites at the right place / fades / soundbites gain etc. ? - mixing : track names, levels, pans, aux tracks, bus subgroups etc. ? - producing : midi tracks ? - ... thanx for your help. pask
Sebastian.Gabler Report post Posted June 28, 2008 What does it really reproduce ?- editing : right sounbites at the right place / fades / sure. soundbites gain etc. ? Not sure... unless you render it. - mixing : track names, sure. levels, dynamic level (automation) is not compatible. pans, pan law is not the same, AFAIK. aux tracks, bus subgroups etc. ? Not sure, and: rather not. - producing : midi tracks ? AFAIK the conversion still is on the PT 5.0 format. PT has gone far in that regard since. I'd rather say that here you can't expect much in that area. /S
lgabiot Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Hello, Pro Convert from SSL is indeed converting to and from PT7 sessions. It is an improvement over EDL Convert which worked only with PT5 sessions. - editing : right sounbites at the right place / fades Yes, but some complicated fades might not be accuratly reproduced, shape wise. soundbites gain etc. ?levels, Automation level will be translated. There is no object gain in PT. For the rest I have no idea. Why don't you ask SSL? Laurent.
