Upgrade to Independence Pro Premium Suite VST from limited version in Samplitude Pro X5 Suite

Recommended Posts

I have Samplitude Pro X5 Suite which came with the Independence Pro Premium library. That's working fine and as everyone knows it only works while in Samplitude. I just purchased an Independence Pro Premium licence directly from Magix Sales for the Independence Pro Premium library to be able to use as a VST in another DAW such as Cubase or with the Independence Pro stand alone program. They sent me a valid serial number and it's showing up separately as Independence Pro Premium in my Magix User Account with my other purchased products. My problem is the download link from my User Account area only gives me the access to download the library image files (70 GB) which i already have. The email from Magix sales only has my serial number and no download links. Does anyone know what i need  to download (and where to get it) to have Independence Pro as a VST oustide of Samplitude and also the Independence Pro sampler stand alone program?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have been to this section for the downloads. For the Independence Pro Premium Suite download on this page when I run that program it seems to only allow me to download the Independence premium library which I already have. I need the Independence Pro download that allows me to install the Independence Pro VST and stand alone program.

The little file, MAGIX Independence Pro Plus Suite, is the DLL. The big one is the library.

Do you see this?

INDEPENDENCE MAGIX Independence Pro Standard (Windows) | Download Version: Pro Standard for Windows | Filesize: 295 MB

MAGIX Independence Pro Standard (Mac) | Download Version: Pro Standard for Mac | Filesize: 404 MB

MAGIX Independence Pro Plus Suite (Windows) | Download Version: Pro Plus Suite for Windows | Filesize: 42.7 MB

MAGIX Independence Pro Plus Suite (Mac) | Download Version: Pro Plus Suite for Mac | Filesize: 24.4 MB

Hi! I think it's the other way around:

INDEPENDENCE MAGIX Independence Pro Standard (Windows) | Download Version: Pro Standard for Windows | Filesize: 295 MB

Includes the Independence 3.5 VSTi dll and standalone exe

MAGIX Independence Pro Plus Suite (Windows) | Download Version: Pro Plus Suite for Windows | Filesize: 42.7 MB

Download manager for the Plus library 12GB

MAGIX Independence Pro Premium Suite (Windows) | Download Version: Pro Premium Suite for Windows | Filesize: 118 MB

Download manager for the Premium library 70GB

Best, Thomas

Hi @Sean DiMaria!

I bought the standalone version years ago and in my account there is both the Independence Pro Standard which is the VSTi/EXE with a serial

and then Independence Pro Premium Library with its own serial.

Back then I bought a bundle on sale with both products, but I remember there was easy to get confused by the website back then, if you bought the Independence Pro Premium you only got the 70GB library, you needed to buy both products.

By looking at the website they now call it Independence Pro Premium Suite it looks like it should include the Independence Pro Standard package as well ...

https://www.magix.com/int/music/independence/

but it sounds that you still only get the licence for the Library not the standalone VSTi/EXE version so you need to check with support.

Best, Thomas

@Sean DiMaria Did you ever get this sorted?  Purchased the Pro Premium Suite back on Dec 5th and still have not been able to get the stand-alone version working.  It is very confusing and Magix has failed to provide a clear and precise process for making it work.

I have tried every variation and install sequence I know to try and have gone from Magix rejecting the serial number provided on Activation to a generated code and redirection to BestService.com only to have it tell me it is Invalid, to the Activation button in Independence/Preference/Activation button just disappearing when clicked to now there not even showing an Activation button.

I hope this helps.. Here are a couple of options, the first is from Magix Support when I emailed them for help:

Option One from Magix Support:

Their answer about getting Independence Pro Standalone working to use it as a vst and then installing Independence Premium:

They recommend a clean new installation of the Independence.

Start Windows "Apps & Features" and search for Independence.

De-install the following entries:

Independence Free

Independence Pro Standard

Independence Pro VST Plugins

Independence Pro Library Common Files

Then follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall.

Check the following folders and delete any existing Independence files:

c:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Common\Packages\

c:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\bundles\

c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MAGIX Services\Independence Libraries\

c:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\bundles\

c:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\libraries\

c:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\libraries\

c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Independence\Preferences\

c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\MAGIX\Independence\Preferences\

c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\

Then empty the recycle bin.

Installing the plugin

Restart the installation of Independence Pro Standard.

Download the latest version here: https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/yWNAPscl

Installing the Library

Restart the installation of the Pro Premium Library

Download the latest version here: https://my.hidrive.com/lnk/RWCgAuUI

Then I emailed them the following question:

My question: When I re-install Independence Pro Standard, do I go ahead and activate it with the Independence Pro serial number or should I activate the Independence Pro Premium library first with the serial number for the Independence Pro Premium?

Their answer: Activate the Independence Pro Standard serial number first, then activate Independence Pro Premium Library serial number.

Just a note, the 70 GB premium library installation.. I let that install into it’s default directly on my primary hard drive. Then I moved it to another hard drive after I activated the Independence Pro Premium. That meant I had to clear some space to accommodate the 70 GBs until I could move it but so far everything is working good now.

The default installation location is: C:\Windows\ProgramFiles (x86)\Magix\Independence Libraries

If the above doesn’t work here are the steps I used and made a document about which has similar steps as above but more detailed:

Option Two from my list of steps:

Reinstalling Independence/installing Independence Pro Premium

To install Independece Pro Premium Suite I followed the steps below to reinstall Independence. Then I did the following:

I did not reinstall Independence Pro from the Samplitude X5 suite options.

I temporarily copied the 70 GB Independence Pro Library (from the D: drive where I stored the Magix Sample Libraries) into the C:/program files x86/Magix/Independence Pro  folder (see other document for exact location) which is the default location of where this library is installed if done from scratch.

I ran and installed Independence Pro Standard dlm (version 3.5 not the 3.6 version because the 3.5 was the one that came from the Magix website on 6-20-20 so it probably is the most current version even though it’s 3.5)

Then I ran the Independence ProLibrary dlm (or Premium as they are the same dlm) and selected online install and then clicked repair and because I had copied the entire library into the default location it only took a few seconds for this to run because it recognized I had already installed it.

Then I opened Independence Pro stand alone and I DID NOT activate it at this point. I closed the activate screen for activating Independence Pro Standard to activate it later. I think the mistake I made before was activating the Standard before I activated the Premium instruments. Then after I closed the activation screen, I selected to load an instrument (clicked on the load instrument option) and chose one of the instruments. Then it asked for me to activate the Premium instruments. I entered the serial for the Independence Pro Premium Suite and it said it was activated and unlocked.

Then I loaded an instrument from the Pro library and it worked.

Then I closed the app and reopened it and it asked about activating it. I then used the serial number for Independence Pro Standard to activate Independence Pro and it activated it.

Then I went to preferences and library and tried to load the library from the D: drive so I could delete it from the C: drive and it would not let me add the library. I then removed the library from the list which made it an empty list and then clicked on add library and navigated to the Independence Pro Library on the D: drive. Then I loaded and instrument and everything seems to be working as it should. Yay!

To reinstall the Independence Sampler and its Content Library, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Windows Control Panel and uninstall Samplitude Pro X3.
  2. Be sure to also remove all Independence installations, folders and files from your system. To do this, go to the Windows Control Panel and select "Programs and Features". Then, uninstall "Magix Independence Libraries Common Files", "Magix Independence Pro 3.3 VST-Plugins" and "Magix Independence Pro Software Suite 3.3".
  3. Delete the following folders:
    C:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Common\Packages\-
    C:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\bundles\-
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\MAGIX Services\Independence Libraries\-
    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\bundles\-
    C:\Users\All Users\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\libraries\-
    C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Independence Libraries\libraries\-
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Independence\Preferences\-
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\MAGIX\Independence\Preferences\-
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp
  4. Reinstall Independence.

If the program is already installed on your computer, you will be given the option to either "Modify" or "Remove" the installation.
Select "Modify".

The dialog that follows gives you the option of selecting or deselecting additional programs for installation. Select Independence.
Click "Continue" to start the installation.

@Sean DiMaria  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

This should be a sticky at the very least - in this forum, the Independence forum, and the Beginner forum.

In reality, MAGIX should have made this crystal clear from the beginning!!

I followed your Option 2 and it worked like a charm.

Cheers!!

You’re very welcome! I’m so happy this worked for you! It took me several days to get it working with my own troubleshooting and waiting to hear back from Magix Support. I’m glad I made notes about what I did to finally get it working, which I try to do with anything computer or software related. Magix Independence Pro is a great library once it’s up and running. It has a wonderful selection of professional sounds.
