MGB Hi MGB, If by duplicate objects you mean essentially just copying the object and dragging in to the new position, yes. but this defeats the convenience, speed, and efficiency of using loop based objects. Regards, DB Hi DB, No, I don't mean copying the object, if I remember well it's right click on the object then choose object, then duplicate object, and then you can choose how many times you want it duplicated, click ok and then you have as many object as you wanted after each other (no need to drag) and each duplicated object should retain it's original fade. Hi Greg, Thanks for your reply, I can add more in the FX window so that's no problem, it just would be nice if you could see all the fx you're using looking at the mixer and not having to open another window. On the other hand, I can't remember ever needing more than 6 plugins on a track, this was just for testing out some things, so I guess I'll be ok. MGB
  4. Hi, Proud owner of Samplitude 10 since a week, and very,very happy with it. I do have the following question: I am testing some plugins on a track and using more than 6 at the moment, however in the mixer ( plugin slots) only the first 6 show. In the track fx dialogue window I'm able to put in ( and see) more plugins but in the mixer still only 6 will show. Is there an option to expand the plugin slots in the mixer so you can see all plugins being used? Or a way to scroll through the plugins? Thanks, MGB
  5. You can mute the object instead of the track, track stays active that way but object doesn't play back and then you're able to play along on the original track. Rebuilding EQfx isn't necessary, you can copy/paste the whole fx chain, or just duplicate the track with all it's settings and then remove the object and you have a empty track again, but with all the fx settings. Or you can shift/click and drag the object downwards to an empty track and experiment on the original track and if it turns out the original take was the best just drag it back up. Hope this helps, MGB Thanks MGB - I will try ALL of the above - I'm sure they will all work, but learning "how" to mute an object vs track and copying FX chain will be good for me to know. So... feel like taking a crack at solving Q1 lol. Thanks again. Muting object = select object ( left mouse click) and then Ctrl-M. Regarding question one, I'm not sure if I completely understand what you want to achieve but what I would do is this; Assuming you have gridlines+bars and beats enabled, put the cursor where you want to split your object (8 bars, end of verse/start of chorus) press T ( = split object). Then move the object containing the chorus 8 bars to the right, then duplicate the 8 bar verse and drag it into the empty 8 bars? MGB

  7. Well, Pro's and con's, people who hear a difference and people who don't. I guess it'll be allways like that. I have to say I agree with what they mention on the cubase forum , about that if the songs aren't any good, making them sound good still doesn't make them great songs. I'd rather hear a brilliant song on a crappy tapedeck than a crappy song on a superdeluxe hifi installation. But still I think it doesn't hurt trying to aim for the best sound, but it really does come in second after having a great song/ performance. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Ciao, MGB
  8. I'm glad you all like it as much as I do. I think the quality of the included plugins is indeed very high because it's just so much easier for me to get everything sounding the way I want it. But even just playing back audio files to me sounds "better" in Samp, so the question remains, howcome? I'm a happy guy anyway because I hear the difference and that's what counts doesn't it? MGB
  9. Hi, I know this has been discussed am million times already, but I'm very serious about it. Can someone ( preferebly a developer?) please elaborate on the fact that a lot of people on different forums find that Samplitude sounds "better" compared to other aps? I myself can hear a very clear difference in sound ( more dept, better separation....clearer...?), and really think it sounds better ( better is of course a personal opinion but it definitely sounds different). Everytime a discussion like this comes up somebody will come forward and mention a nulling test, and claim because of files nulling out there cannot be a difference in sound, period. But still I'm sure I hear a big difference in sound. And even Samplitude themselves mention this on their website. So I would appreciate it very much if someone on the "inside", i.e. one of the developers of Samplitude could shed his light on this topic. Thanks, MGB

  13. Hello. I have a bass part ( audio ) on track 1. I played onother bass part on track 2. I liked some of the things I played on track 2 and cut the object, so the pieces I liked are now separate objects. Now I want to see ( listen ) how the basspart would sound like if I insert the bits I liked ( from track 2 ) onto the first track. If I select a short object from track two and move it over to track 1, the complete track 1 object shortens to the point where the inserted object ends. Why? Only way to do it seems cutting up track 1 so that you can replace the objects by the ones from track 2. I just want to have a quick listen and worry about cutting and editing later. Is there a way?   15. Hi Gene 1995. I think you misunderstood. I want to be able to leave the cd burning session open like in other programs ( roxio, nero etc.). There you can burn some data on a cd and when there's still some space left you can leave the burning session open instead of finalizing it. Then for example two days later you can use the same cd for dumping more data on it untill it's full. In Samplitude even when you just burn a small file that needs saving, say 7 MB, the burning session gets finalized and you are not able to burn any more data on the cd, even while there's lots of space left.   17. Hi. Tried it, but it didn't work. I tried it with simulation mode on/off, verify disk on/off in every possible combination. Sometimes it says "cannot mount disc" sometimes "no disc found" So I changed finalize back to 1 instead of 0. Now when I turn both simulation mode and verify disc off, the backup gets burned on the cd but once again nothing else can be written on the cd anymore. Anything else I could try? Ciao. MGB
  18. Hello. I tried to burn a project backup on a cd today. Everything went ok except that when I tried to burn another project backup a few minutes later i got a message that there was no space left on the cd ( or no cd found ). This probably means that Samplitude doesn't leave the burning session open, but closes the session so that you can't burn anything else later on. Is there a way to leave the session open? It seems to me that sometimes you just need to backup a little data and maybe later some more. Now I have to use a new cd everytime, even when I have little data to save, wich I think is not very economical. Any advice? Thanks. MGB.

  20. It worked. The tempo's match now. First problem was that the loop was midi and I had to bounce it to make it audio. Second was that the object starting/ending point wasn't the drumloop's starting/ending point point ( first you click rec and then the keyboard to let the sample play and record it ). But with some zooming in to find the exact starting point of the loop and some extra patience it all worked out. Thanks for reacting and helping me out. MGB
  21. Thank you. I understand about looping ( or duplicating ) the object but like you said, it only works when the drumloops tempo matches that of the piano. And that's what I have to achieve first. I've been reading a lot on different forums and it looks like every other program ( cubase ,sonar, protools etc... ) has a function to do this. I've been playing around with all the demo's of different manufacturers that I could get a hold on, and immediately fell in love with Samplitude. So I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up buying it but this problem I just can't figure out . I've searched the help files and sometimes you just stumble on the solution but not this time. Maybe it can't be done ( yet ) in Samplitude? Wait for Samp 8 ? MGB
  22. Hello. I've recorded a piano part with the click at 75 BPM, no problem so far. I found a nice two bar drumloop and recorded that but the tempo is slower. Question is how can I stretch the drumloop so that it matches the piano in tempo. I've tried it with timestretch and think I'm doing ok but when I duplicate the loop and listen to some more bars the piano and drums aren't together anymore. Is it just a matter of me having to be more accurate when I do the time stretching ( I really tried hard ) or is there another way to do it ? I'm just starting out so any advice is welcome. MGB
