Dongle Upgrade Problems

I just got my Crossgrade from Cubase SX3 to Samp 9 Pro. I'm having a problem upgrading the Dongle. I'm following the directions, but I'm still having a problem. I've activated the program.

When trying to upgrade the dongle, I run into the following problem... I'm entering upgrade code (or what I think is my upgrade code), I then point to my context file. I click apply and I get asked for the file again, I try to re-point to the file, but no luck, it's now not an option. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong; I'd appreciate any help.

Ill see if I can help...I hate to ask such a silly Q..could you be a little more specific?

I know you have to put the file to the desktop, and then use that to help ugrade the codemeter dongle.

I see my codemeter upgrade 8 to 9, even after I have updated the codemeter. So it looks a little strange but it works. :)

give details please.

Here's a step-bt- step rundown...

I open Samp, the Codemeter startup wizzard opens, I click the upgrade tab, the next screen prompts me to save the context file; I save the file to a folder on another drive.

I click on the "service.samplitude" link and get taken to "My Products" I click on the upgrade button.

I point to the context file in the lower box and enter the personal upgrade code in the upper box ( I tried entering both the code I was emailed and the code I copied when activating the program)

I then go back to "start dialog" and click Apply. I'm then prompted again for the context file. I try to point to the folder where it is, but the WIBU control file doesn not appear.

I'm assuming I should be pointing to another file, but I have no idea what file.

This is where I'm stuck.

I haven't received a new control file; should I have gotten a new one? I just got the activation code. Is there someone I need to email.

The program is running fine; I'm lovin it so far. Thanks for the help.

Ok I am in the same boat as you.

I was able to go to the Samplitude web site, but info on me and I got a password.

The first thing I did was go to that web site to get the dongle to work.

Then I opened up Samplitude. I am not upgrading from 8 to 9 so I did not lclick it

The next screen shows my serial number on top, and a code below it.

Neither of these numbers are the activation code that we need to get the ball rolling.

What are we suppose to do from here?

Hmm, you should recieve a new control file via email as well. posibly in another email seperate from the activation code??

Sounds like beside the log in email that I got, I should get a activation email as well. Perhaps they have to do this when they are open on Monday.

I was able to register my Sample Tank 2 and got authorization. Why is the Samplitude authorization not as easy? Then I work during the day, and don't know how I can get tech support. They are closed by the time I get home in the USA.

I got it to work. I have to first log into Samplitude, then the register page. Growing pains is not fun.

If you've just bought a version 9 you shouldn't need any dongle update via control file.

That's really just for updates from version 8 to 9.

On starting the application you should see the screen with "90 days remaining..." and

there you get a link to get the activation code. You can also call the registration from the

programm help menu. You only have to do this once, the activation is stored on the dongle.

>I see my codemeter upgrade 8 to 9, even after I have updated the codemeter. So it looks a little strange >but it works.

The start screen is intended to give you some general hints in case of problems and

a missing dongle update is a possible reason for problems. It's like a general help

assistant, which is part of the Codemeter copy protection.

Volker

  • 8 months later...

I just installed the upgrade from Samp 8 - 9 Pro and now neither program can see my codemeter stick.

When I try Samp9 it pops up with the upgrade popup. I click 'save' and it says it can't find my codemeter stick.

I try to run Samp8 and it says I need a codemeter stick.

Any help would be appreciated!!!! I'm extremely frustrated at this point.

PS. Actual message is "Error accessing local CM-stick".

Update:

I went to samplitude and logged in. Under "downloads" I saw a new Codemeter Runtime. I downloaded it, installed it which upgraded the codemeter software, and then was able to complete the upgrade from Samp8 to Samp9.
