Setting a range on the fly

Recommended Posts

There seem to be many ways to navigate through ranges and objects after they are created already. Sometimes I want to make a range on the fly as I listen back to an audio file, like a punch-in, punch-out, but just making a range. I would love, for example, to hit the down-arrow as the play cursor passes bar 9, and hit the up-arrow as it passes bar 17, and so on.

I've been redoing the standard Sampy shortcuts on my system and can't figure out if this is possible without kludgy workarounds like setting markers, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
