S.T.
Hi there! (Long time no see ). One of my plextor dvd writers just gave up its life, so I was wondering what might be a reliable alternative to that. Heard that Plextor now belongs to liteon, but I don't trust that yet. Of course it has to be able to burn 100% reliable audio CDs... (and dvds) Any ideas? Thanks in advance! S.T.
Bob Olhsson
My new Pro Tools PC computer came with a Samsung SATA which seems to be working fine.
ggidluck
I see that someone is selling refurbished Plexwriter Premium drives on ebay. Those are internal IDE. I think they can still work with Plextools to check error rates. Gordon
Bob Olhsson
There are ide to USB2 and USB3 adapters that are supposed to work. I couldn't get Plextools to work in 8.1 and haven't tried win 10 yet.
Sebastian.Gabler
My concern with obsolete drives like the Plextor CD writers is that they won't have profiles for current media. This is quite relevant for quality of the results. Moreover, the second generation of the Plextor Premium drives is a completely different beast than the first breed.
