File Locations

Is there a way to tell Samplitude that I want to store all data for a project under a single folder? For example D:\Audio Projects\Samplitude\SongTitle\. The folder called "SongTitle" would contain:

  • the .vip file (which should include all the MIDI data, I think)
  • pointers to and settings for all the plugins and VST instruments
  • any .bak files
  • another folder called "Audio," which would hold all the .wav files associated with the song.

This would make it possible to move an entire project to another machine, and also make it easy to back up the project (just copy the song folder to a safe place). Am I mistaken, or does Samplitude default to putting audio files in one central place in the Documents folder?

Hi Larry!

Samplitude should by default save all these files in your "SongTitle" folder including your WAV files, but no Audio subfolder for WAV's.

By default your projects are saved in your document folder, you can change that location in Options, System (or press Y) Program/General, New Virtual Projects.
