Lo there,

I have recently been looking at you Samplitude version 7 and I really do like it, and I am one step away from buying it but the issue with midi seems to be a problem for me even tho It might not be in the long run.

I have been a Cubase VST User for several years and and I was thinking about buying Cubase SX but there just seem to be so many problems with it at the moment. My studio setup consists of a Roland XP-30, which is my only Midi Device, I have tuns and tuns of Samples but I will need to use the XP-30 for most of the sounds,

So in terms of Midi capability, I want to be able to control Volume, Pan, Velocity, Modulation, Pitch and other main types of Midi function's, I dont really bother with precise midi editing like in the Inspector Window (cubase), all music will be recorded from the XP-30 to my DAW for mixing and editing so what im asking is, will Samplitude fulfill my requirments?

Btw I'm a Film & TV music Composer and I will need to use Video too.

Thanks for your time, I hope for a swift reply and I hope to be joining you, in what looks like, a fantastic program

You can edit MIDI cotroller curves in the tracks, but Samplitude is not a fullsize MIDI sequencer (yet). The biggest handicap in the moment is the limitation for a project tempo, you can´t enter and edit tempo changes inside a project. If you import MIDI files in a track, they will keep the tempo settings, if you don´t edit the files. The best way is to use an external sequencer for MIDI composing and sync Samplitude with MIDI Time Code (MTC).

I'm a Film & TV music Composer and I will need to use Video too.

You can import a video file and play it to the Samplitude arrangement. This works also in the demo version. Samplitude Professional includes also a separate Digital Video Editing program (Video Deluxe). http://www.samplitude.com/de/feat_j.htm
