I'm sure you guys realize your only real competition is Cubase SX/Nuendo. Will you guys continue to try and out do them? For instance, one thing I really miss in Samplitude is the advanced automation features of SX. Will the automation be evolved? For instance, SX has three different modes, and Nuendo adds 2 more. And, you have a tool to help draw pre defined curves. Will these features get into Samplitude? Also, I understand that 7.1 will add automation, but 16 paremeters per effect. Any reason for this limitation? I would really love to see FULL automation and compliance to the VST spec.

Also, any chance of getting sidechains?

Sure  And it's 16 paramters per track, that's as many as you want for

VSTi (since you can have several tracks for one VSTi), but just 16 for all

VST-FX together in a track.

Of course we'll develop this further but currently the VST spec just seems not

especially be made for audio automation (at least the published parts) and AFAIK

even this isn't implemented anywhere as tight as in Samplitude (speaking of

timing resolution and parameter sweeps here). Hence we'll see what's better

suited for an improved audio automation engine in a future update, VST at least

here seems very MIDI based. What use are spline curves if the plugin gets

stair curves ?

I'll second Tony's notion... I've done things here that make my Pro Tools friends wow in amazement...

Object based mixing is IMO the most powerful thing to come down the pike yet.
