I'm looking for a great reverb and I'm using Samplitude 6.0 maybe upgrade for 7.1 just for M3000 's impulse.

Yes.

We´ve produced all impulses in an large-scaled process, capturing the original sound of every device or room. But keep in mind, that the Room Simulator has no parameter change option, like a classic reverb unit. The built-in effects - a phase linear EQ and the envelope tools - can´t replace all parameter options of the original box. On the other hand, it´s possible, to use more room simulators with different hardware impulses (Lexicon, TC, real rooms) in a mix, instead of only one hardware box, connected with an external mixer. With the new track/bus/object freeze option in 7.1 the number of room simulators is nearly unlimited.

The quality of the room simulation process depends from the quality of the used impulse response. For best results with Samplitudes room simulator, it´s recommended, to use high resolution impulses, produced in float. Most impulses, available on web sites, are 16 bit and produced with the bad dirac impulse method (1 sample shot), wich has a naturally degradation effect, resulting in a low resolution. Recorded impulses have a low level, -30 and more dB below 0. This means recorded impulses have a bad S/N and also don´t capture the original frequency spectrum of the device or room. These impulses are good enough, to see the advantages of the convolution process, but are far from optimum and also not close enough to the original device or room. With such an impulse, the room simulator sounds not like the original M3000.

But we´ve developed an improved procedure. Nearly all V7 impulses were created in a special process for best quality and original reproduction of the used device or room. The process allows to capture the original sound with an extremely high S/N. Maybe it will sound strange, but the resulting S/N ratio of our impulses is much higher, than the S/N ratio of the original device.

For example: an old 480L has a bad S/N. The noisefloor (caused by old A/D & D/A converters and internal analog technic) is very high. Our process can increase the ratio of the 480L or any other reverb unit automatically to a phenomenal value, not reachable, if you use the original device.

Another example: In a real room you can speak words during the recording process or open and close a door, without an audible influence to the result. We use also a special room simulator file format for best results in the convolution process.

That means - and all users will agree - the included V7 impulses are best quality. We have used only high end devices (Lexicon, TC and others) and real top quality rooms. V7 Professional comes with 490 MB impulses for all possible production situations. Drum, vocal, theatre, concert, ambience, guitar and church reverbs. Registered users can now also download impulses from the original presets of the M3000. More impulses are in preparation. This is a permanent service for our registered users.

Convolution can only clone linear processes in the time and frequency domain. The typical analoge sound, caused by non-linear distortions in dependence to the input signal can´t be reproduced in the traditional convolution process. Maybe it is possible in a dynamic convolution process, with thousands of snapshots from all input reactions of a real device.

But it´s possible, to "clone" a static situation. E. g. our Amp speaker simulation works with convolution.
