Hi there,

Any one working with Sequoia?

By the way, how do you pronounce it?

Sekwoya? Sekoya? I know/think there's a tree by that name.

What have been your experiences?

I'm trying to decide between the PC and Mac platforms.

I definitely have to up-grade but I'm not decided on a direction as yet.

I need to hear words of wisdom from you folk who are "older and wiser" in the ways of Magix products.

right now I'm using:-

SONAR 2.2

WminME

P3 933MHz

Thanx in advance for your comments.

does Samplitude benefit from Dual-Processor or Hyper-Threading technology?

Dual yes, Hyperthreading no (not useful for audio technology yet).

Like always in the past, a dual system delivers only for a very short moment, if you choose the most powerful available, a similar or better performance, than a comparable single CPU system with the fastest processor, RAM and bus technology. In the last points, dual systems are always a step behind, so it´s not recommandable, to go with a dual for a much higher price, than with a single CPU system with the latest state-of-the-art bus, board and RAM design. Take the fastest dual Xeon now, but at the latest some months ago you will see a single system, wich will overhaul your system.

You can also contact jeff Sharidan jeff@soundworksstudio.net He is a Sequia expert and a genius and a super nice guy. He helped me a ton with Samp. and he knows WAY more about Sequia. And he also builds systems and sells them. He really is a rare find. As in he actually REALLY knows what he's doing. :>) I've found that to be rare in the PC world. Good luck. I've been on PC now for over 3 years and it's great. I have a few friends who have heard and seen what I'm doing and have come over as well from Mac. :>) It's half the price. Same performance and cheaper software. No brainer for me.
