Beat detective type trick

I understand there is a way in Samplitude to slice up a drum track where all of the hits are and then move the remaining samples to a grid. Can someone please explain how to do this? Thanks.

drop in a drum loop, say 2 bars long. double click, click the timestretching tab, choose 'beat slicing'. now it is sliced. close this window, open up the file in wave editor, you wll now see beat markers. you can then double click between each marker, drag that portion to the VIP, via snap to object all your individual hits can be lined up in the VIP, to snap in other hits for replacement, add more compresion to just the snare hit via object effects, etc. it would be nice for a menu optoin to auto-split the beat s you dont have to drag out each hit manually from the wave window..
