Hi there,

I bought V6, but there was no serial number, only a "network card".

How will I prove my elligibility for the upgrade to V8?

Any V6 owners out there, or anyone who remembers how it was for them with V6?

Thanx. B)

When I bought v6 stu and then a week or so later-v7pro from audiomidi,I didn't have to prove anything.I'm pretty sure they just looked at their own sales records.v7pro upgrade shipped right from Synthax. So if you buy 8 upgrade where you bought 6 stu, "I don't think" you have to worry about it.At least that's how it was with me and v7.

To GTBannah,

I just got V6 Producer as well, and did the same exact thing. And just happened across the number by accident.

Anyways, I'm right with you on SAM V6, and foaming at the mouth for V8. Even SAM V6, being several years old, is so much nicer to use than Sonar 3.

I'm still using Samplitude Producer 6.0 and have been for over 3 years and IMO, it is still one of the best programs for audio on the market! And considering what's coming in version 8.0, there won't be any competition left! B)

A simple thing like this:-

Program two or three GM drum tracks in SONAR (this hurts, having "grown up" with CAKEWALK from the DOS days), then adjust the voulme on one of the tracks.

All the tracks are affected, right? Not so in Samp 6. I was blown further away when I discovered that you could PAN the Hi Hat track independently of the others. Try that in SONAR!

I don't know what those chaps at MAGIX are doing, but it looks like "MAGIX" .... B)

I'm still concerned about the manual ....

Thanx for the responses, fellas ....

V8!!

Hey you guys that just purchased 6.0 Producer with a view to upgrading to Pro 8, how much did you pay for the 6.0? I'm thinking of going this route, just wondering what deals you got on it - and how much is the upgrade?

TIA

GT Bannah. What is this network card you got in the package. Is it compulsory that you have to install this to get the prog to work, I've already got a network card in my PC I don't want another one it will screw up my IRQ assignments. Please explain, thanks.

The network card is just a paper membership card that Magix issues that allows registered users access to Internet goodies. I haven't used it, but I'm sure that there's something to it. Check out Magix website, under Community or www.magix.com/network, as I believe they talk about it.

No, it's not needed to activate the program. That's the serial number that GT Bannah and I couldn't find, as it was on the paper slip-cover for the CD disk. :D

www.jdsound.com is where I picked up Samplitude 6.0. I think the breakdown is as follows:

Samplitude Master 2496 $ 49.99 :D

Samplitude Studio 2496 $ 99.99 B)

Samplitude Producer 2496 $149.95 :D

And you can get info on the V8 upgrade as well. JD Sound also sells on eBay as jdsound-com. You might be able to get it even cheaper through eBay. That's how I got Producer 2496 V6.

I hope this helps. B)

Cyrall is right. I'm not too bothered by it. Just a stepping stone to the real thing .... V8.

I got my V6 Studio from AudioMidi.com for $79.42 plus S+H.

Ordered Monday afternoon, shipped the same night, got it, in my hand, Wednesday (I'm in Barbados)!

The upgrade is $599.00 ....

Can't wait ....

Sluurrrrp! B)

Dang, I had to pay $ 99 at AudioMidi.com :D

Anyway, I'll receive my upgrade to V7 classic in about two days B)

After that I'll probably upgrade to V8

That might have been "Producer" ....

They might have been out of stock when I shopped, that's why I got Studio.

Check out JRR Shop.

Great dealer, and the Samplitude 8 Pro bundle for $550 is a great deal.

This is interesting!

They said on the site, "Ships Immediately."

Is the English version out as yet?

Next question: Are we getting Samp V6 AND V8 for $550.00, or do we BUY V6 at $x.00 and THEN up-grade for $550.00?

It's not quite clear (to me, that is). B)

I guess it must be the English version as it's in the USA .Seems like a great deal but for European residents I would imagine the extra VAT and import duty plus shipping will bump the price up a bit .

It says it's a bundle which usually means they are "bundled "together for the one price $550 in this case ,

In the registered forum they say: english V8 will ship in december (info from AES).

Thanks for that insider info B) That new manual must be a literary masterpeice!! ... maybe I should have tried harder to learn German when I was living in Zurich (actually no that easy as Swiss - German is a weird hybrid) then I could have bought V8 3 months ago :D
