The V8 information center will be launched just before the show opens.

Well the AES has started I think but nothing new seems to have been posted on the Samp website B)

Keep on waiting brothers!

The official line I got yesterday from JD Sound is that it's not ready and won't ship for at least another couple of weeks.

Obviously the manual is the problem and they want to get that finished and ship the manuals with the product. I imagine the manual is at the printers still, so an educated guess is this should be in the stores towards the end of November.

Nice of Magix to keep everyone updated via their web site that never seems to change from one day to the next.

Interestingly enough I was given a demo yesterday of the new Sonar 4. Some of the new features are making this app catch up with Nuendo and Samplitude fast. And the audio engine is improved. Magix are going to have to improve the customer attitude. If Cakewalk keep improving Sonar at the current rate Magix may start losing customer support.

It is now day two of the AES and there is no mention on Harmony Central ( http://aes.harmony-central.com/117AES/ ) of any announcement about Samplitude/Sequioa V8. I have also done an extensive of Web search and found no information about the product launch. It's also disappointing they have not updated their Web page with some new information . I myself am not even a Samplitude user yet but find myself always giving it a mention on various other forums. It's surprising how many people have heard of it but very few know that many details about it except for things like "it's rather expensive isn't it?". I know for sure if I was marketing this software I would be shouting it from the rooftops. I get the impression that Magix seem to have a very low key attitude to promotion of the Samplitude/Sequioa product line. Maybe it's because they make their money from the cheaper multimedia software which allows them the luxury to develop their specialist software without the pressure of mass marketing. (pure speculation). When Samplitude V8 is finally released I'm sure I will buy it. I'm approaching the mixing stage of my current project and would like to try one or two mixes using V8. I'm still a bit perturbed by the lack of send automation but at least after buying a copy I will be able to gain access to the Holy Grail of the User Forum B)

The consumer market is a multi hundred million dollar business. Compared to the one-digit million dollar sales of all sequencer software programs together and all the cracks in this field its like an elephant herd to a single sheep. No wonder all big music software companies were buyed by bigger companies in the last years.
