New Computer purchase?

I'm wishing to build a new PC, but I'm not too sure about the latest motherboards and components.

I am going to use a Intel P4 cpu, but they come with different chipsets etc, and I'm wondering if there is any preference for these IC's?

A friend of mine told me to use the Gigabyte motherboards, but once again there seems to be quite a lot of variations. What is the preferred board?

As far as sound cards go, I want to use the M Audio Audiophile card. I also would like a LCD screen as I can have a fairly large screen and not take up a lot of desk space.

As far as video cards etc goes, I really don't have much of an idea.

Thanks for your assistance in advance. I appreciate the help.

Yours Sincerely

Mark Abbott.

Intel 875/865 chipset with full CSA implementation

That is part of a comment by Sebastian Gabler. He also mentioned a triple head video card.

Well, well!! :o

My penny's worth:- buy the "fastest, fattest system you can afford", i.e.

as much RAM and "horse power" as you can afford.
