96kHz Recording Problem

Someone help me! I'm experiencing problems when playing audio back at 96kHz. I have a more than capable machine. Windows resides on a pair of drives (RAID-0 serial ATA stripe) and my data files are played/recorded to and from another RAID-0 striped pair of serial ATA drives. I have an AMD Athlon 2600 Barton core processor and 1 Gb of DDR RAM. I've been recording 24-track (and greater) projects at 44.1kHz without flaw but am having trouble playing back 1 track of 96kHz. I'm using a MOTU 2408 MKIII interface which I've clocked correctly and have also set internal parameters to 96kHz. I've also set Samplitude to 96kHz recording and playback. I can dither the files to 44.1 and they play fine so I'm recording without any problems. Just having trouble playing back. I've tried various buffer settings as well. Any help would be appreciated.
